DESCRIPTION: Length 5.5 to 7mm. A neat little leafhopper with a somewhat robust structure. The wings are ornamented with numerous creamy-white crosslines and black dots whilst the vertex has several dark marks and lacks any diagonal lines as found in a similar species. This species also has a faint bluish ground colour. BEHAVIOUR: Nymphs feed on grasses. Adults are rather fond of Oaks. DISTRIBUTION: A common species throughout Britain usually found by beating vegetation. HABITAT: Woodlands and hedgerows and nearby grass land. PERIOD: Adults are usually seen between June and October. |
